Sources for mounting hardware please

Hello all,

I'm in the planning stage of a home built rig on an Yammie XS 650 adventure style. Bout ready to start threatening some metal but need to locate the mounting hardware. I've spent some time on Mcmaster carr and even looked at tractor supply but can't seem to find exactly what I THINK I need which is part of the problem. Seen somewhere on one of these threads about mounts for a tractor but can't find it again.

Any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated. If you couldn't already tell this Hack thing is all new to me so take it easy on me.

Also look into the Summit Racing catalog.
There are a bunch of heim joints and weld-in lugs for mounting differentials that would work well for a hack mounting system.

My biggest problem with this project is getting the complete picture in my head and on paper. Thanks to the hack section of advrider I'm getting close.

Hello Brad.
What kind of sidecar are you installing on your DR650? I have a 2002 Velorex installed on mine. Have about 300 miles on the sidecar so far.

My first plans were to try and find a good used Velorex 562, but Im thinking I would prefer a Ural/Dnepr/CJ750 sidecar for the DR. There is a guy down the road with a non running Chang Jiang 750 im trying to talk out of the car. If he wont part with it I will keep an eye on ebay and Craigslist for a Ural type car. I plan to get started on building a subframe as time permits and be ready when the right sidecar becomes available.

Did you build your subframe or purchase one?
Any advice before I get started?

Brad,
I purchased the subframe from DMC. I also purchased the sidecar from a person about 17 miles from my house. It is a 2002 Velorex 562 and came with all the mounting hardware. The install was pretty easy with the subframe. I did purchase the up grade swing arm with 20 mm axle from Velorex and installed a Harley Sportster shock. I had to reduce the width of the shock mounting eyes to get it to fit.
The biggest problem with the Velorex is getting in and out of it. It is pretty small. I would like to modify it similar to the one Johnny Sweet did for a guy in north east Alabama.

While we do not make a mounting kit for your bike, we do sell the parts we use to make our kits such as eye bolts, clevis's, threaded sleaves, clamps and such.
