$14 Crash Bar Saddle Bags on 2012 V-Strom
Spent all my farkle money just buying the bike so had to improvise & make some gear.
Found these Coleman ATV saddlebags at Wally World for $10. The wife taught me how to use the sewing machine & I added some velcro to attach them to theV-strom OEM crash bars. For $14 it'll hold lunch & anything soft in case I get a case of the drops again. If I want them waterproof, just stuff a small dry bag in there. Sure beats the $369 Touratech Bags! http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/P...MW-R1200GS-HP2 Coleman Black Saddlebags: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-AT...Black/16680117 Coleman ATV Tank Top Saddle Bag, Black: Automotive : Walmart.com |

I'd be curious how the 10 dollar bags hold up to constant UV exposure. You're not putting anything expensive in there, right?

I bought some ATV pouches at Tractor Supply on sale several years ago and mounted them on my KLR 650 crash bars. The bags have 2 pouches, one smaller than the other. I keep sprare inner tubes, elect connectors/wire/tester, rim protetors, multiple tool tool kits, hand cleaner, you name it, in the pouches. Best $10 I ever spent. I use zip lock bags to keep things dry. Never have had ANY UV damage to the bags, nothing has torn, no zipper breakage, no nothing. I even leave the bags on the crash bars when the time comes for the occasional KLR bath at the car wash. Gotta keep the green gem lookin good you know.
