Not at all.
So far your history-stories have been very interesting - history is just good stories with dates.

I'm looking forward to follow you on your journey.

Dirk,
I'm a fan of your pics, keep 'em coming.

That's a ride I've always wanted to know since I was in age of driving, unfortunately some borders were closed - and still are AFIAK. How did you get from Morocco to Algeria ? special permit ?

Laurent

Good morning Laurent,
you're right, the border is closed since ages. My idea was to take a ferry from Spain to Morocco and then return the same way to Spain and take another ferry to Algeria. There are several ferries going f.e. from Almeria or Alicante to Algiers, Oran or Ghazaouet. The more severe problem is to get visa for Algeria...

Though I had a visa there was a time when I had strong doubts if I will be able to enter Algeria. But that's part of the story now

Hope that's what you wanted to know.

Cheers

Dirk

For you newer members here, Kimangao is very responsible for the high standard of the ride reports on Adventure Rider. He, along with a couple of others, set the bar.

As you can see, his efforts show us how good you can tell a story with a few words, and some good pictures. He's been doing this for years; showing us the world through his lens and his words.

Take the time to read some of his past reports, you will be amazed.

I know I always am.

They're well earned. You've constantly amazed myself and others with your efforts, as well as inspired us to be better at our own.

That's pretty damn good.

I have my little breakfast in the Dalì-hangout-place meanwhile this gentleman breakfasts on his cigar.

Following the shoreline is nearly like riding in paradise. The road twists and bends as if straights haven't been invented yet.

The Costa Brava is one of the popular holiday destinations. Endless sandy beaches, cheap places to crash (if you like) and nearby airports make it very easy to spend a vacation there. In the foreground the Castillo de Begur.

The sandy beaches are not natural everywhere. About every 10 years the formerly rocky beaches get "new" sand. How? Very easy ...

A ship simply pumps the sand from the sea onto the beach. Some caterpillars arrange it nicely and there's your holiday beach. To me, that was the perfect disillusion.

Talking about disillusion I have to come back to the earlier mentioned mobile homes. Especially at the Costa Brava you'll easily find parkings where hundreds of the are locked in. Once their out forget about a nice ride along the coast.

'nathor one ....

Seeking some nice roads in the backcountry.

There are enough promising roads and tracks.

How do you feel if you see a sign like this? Yeeeiiiaaaa!

And how will you feel when on the same 24kms road this buddy is in front of you and is not willing to let you pass?

Anyway, even the slowest lorry will be overtaken somewhen and I enjoy the day, the scenery, everything.

Nearby Aiguafreda I find tonights place to sleep.

Thank God it's not high-season yet.

Cheers

Dirk
