I`ll gladly take those many miles of joyous rides! Thanks! :)

I`ve been riding for about 18 years. I started out on cruisers, but about 8 years ago i got the need for speed and bought my first sport bike. Now thats gotten stale, and i plan on upgrading to a DRZ. And i need something for dirt too. I used to have a little TTR125 and i had so much fun on it!

Today is the first time I'm posting. Don't feel like working, just want to ride or talk about it! Was keeping my hubby's back warm for 30 years, then my son got one. Figured if they can do it, so can I. Got my license last year and I'm on my second bike with over 15K miles under my belt. I often wonder how different my life may have been if I did this when I was 18!!!!

I hear ya! When i was young, my brother always had bikes, and i loved them! He used to get so mad when mom when make him take me for rides. I stopped riding with him when he wheelied on the main st in the town we lived in and i fell off the back!
Fast forward about a hundred years..i separated from my hubby and first thing i did was buy a virago 535 and taught myself to ride.
I wish i had done this when i was a teen. All those years i could have been riding!

So true. We're actually getting bike crazier each day! My son just picked up his second bike yesterday; my husband is looking at a second bike on Saturday and I'm like WTF, I want a second bike too!

Hello New Mexico women riders

Hi Astir and Demenshea,

thanks for responding to the post. I'm booked today but perhaps we can ride sometime next week end. Sunday works better for me. It's getting cold out there so maybe in the middle of the day. I recently moved from CA and do not have much experience riding in the Southwest. If you guys can come up with a picturesque ride of less than 200 miles and with as little Interstate riding as possible that would be great.
I drive a F650 GS Dakar so off road is great as long as it is not too gnarly, loose rocks or crazy steep.

Looking forward!!!

If anyone wants to come to the Virginia (Charlottesville) area to ride let me know! I'll head your way too!

I also started a forum of my own called Mollys Forum (www.mollysforum.com) so we can target women specifically. Please join and tell others about it. We talk about riding, and any other crazy sport or hobby women like to do or want to do and need help trying.

:)

Hi new gals! Happy to see you here. I'm in the southwest, but if you ever head down further south - let me know. I'd love to tour out there.

Couple pics from my first big ride!

Two weeks ago I did my first big ride - the Shenandoah 500. I was one of maybe 5 or 6 girls amongst 200 guys. Was such a fun time!

My little DR was in the front of the line of bikes with the guys I was there with.

I started to look forward to stream crossings ... this one was shallow but some were super fun deep!

And... my first good wreck when I launched myself out of a stream crossing too fast and did not hit the trail. Instead I landed in the ditch across from the trail, hit a downed tree, and now look where my foot clutch lever ends up ... good thing for my boyfriend, a passerby and a good rock ... they got it straight without breaking it and I rode the rest of the day! :)

Was such a fun time. I want to plan all next year with riding!!
