I'm a little late to the party but I figured I'd chime in! I wear custom made Dehner boots...the make boots primarily for people who ride horses but they have a great section devoted to motorcyclists and moto cops. I wear the Strap Tanker....they're not cheap, but because they're custom made, they fit and are super comfortable. A great investment!

They still look good.. And I hate to say how many miles of riding they have..
I have had them resoled 4 times..Leather bottoms only...

They are just showing a few cracks at the break of the foot..

For lack of anywhere else to say g'day ... a mate suggested ADVrider when told of my impending 2-month solo trip around the States. Signed on, lurked a bit, found some great info, and thought it time to post.

Currently riding an '09 Triumph Bonneville (great choice since I'm petite, but I'd love it even if I were 6 feet tall) ... its a second bike but will be the primary, still getting it kitted out and having both fun and frustration deciding on what mods to do.

Do a lot of solo day rides as well as have mates that I ride with, ride year-round, and do some camping rides.

Thanks! Planning to leave in mid-March and do a close approximation of a "Four Corners" ride. I've done a lot of solo travel but this will be the first one exclusively by motorcycle. Have only a rough route planned, general direction, a sites/places I want to see, but mostly going to work out specifics on the road. New York (state, not the city) is a likely ride-through, though!

I love those motorcycles! I would love to have one, but for my touring bike, I'm dreaming of a Triumph Scrambler or a BMW GS 650, both far out of my price range (dang these long periods of unemployment).

My husband and I are planning a two-week trip from here outside of Portland Oregon to Yellowstone and back. We had a wonderful trip last year, from here up into Canada, down through Jasper and Banff and into Glacier National Park in the USA and back. We're hoping for something half as good!
