Howdy gals, I'm located in Washington (PNW) and have been riding street bikes since high school and just started dirt riding about three years ago.

I currently own a GS650 and a Yamaha Virago 750 cruiser. I've also enjoyed my other half's bikes which are Cagiva Gran Canyon 900, ATK 605 and his XT 600. Only issue I have on those is that I can't touch the ground so turning them around is a pain.

I also enjoy 4x4's, horses, monster trucks, photography, wrenching on my 4x4's ('79 Bronco & '77 F150), hiking, camping and much more.

Let's ride and show the guys what we are made of.

I can totally relate to the can't touch the ground issue! But, I can't let that stop me! Still have a lot to learn about wrenching on mechanicals but Im determined. My 1st 4X4 was a 77' Bronco, it had 14" glass packs(sp.?) It took me everywhere in Alaska. I still smile about that ride!

There oughta' be a girl's ride out! Make it soon!

I'd love to do a girl's ride out. However, Washington St is a long way from the flatlands of Illinois. Although, I'd love to ride out there.... if only I didn't have to work Any gals out there in or around Northern IL interested??

Eh?

BMWMOA, I'll go if you'll tell me how to wire a weatherproof outlet to my bike!

The bracket that catches the kickstand was bent. 2. The kickstand was bent.

My friend and I used a puller to fix the bracket. We used a torch to heat and beat the kickstand straight and repaint it.

BTW I love your avatar...vampire-like, cool.
Glad you like the avatar. Nice work on the sidestand. I have a service manual, it does'nt adress after market mods. and the pics are tuff to read! Plus, the wiring diagram reads like swahili to me. My weatherpoof outlet was on just in time for a 10 day ride thanks to the precise and excellent wiring skills of a friend! Now, no riding til' I replace both sprockets, chain, swingarm chain slider, chain guard and rear tire! I dont mind, accept that I wanna ride s'more!

Me too!

One more girl here, though I ride road bikes - a Honda Hornet 900 and a Yam R1. I do enjoy a bit of touring though. I'm based in Weston-super-Mare, England, home of the Beach Race.

I tryed to hang w/ some local female riders but they were boaring and dull. Sunny-day, warm-weather, weekend riding, clothing-hounds, shallow-narrow-minded boyfriend hunters. They didn't know the difference between a decreasing radius turn and a sweeper!! Or a clutch spline and a clutch lever!!

(neither did I when I started riding but I was at least interested and eager to learn and willing to put the miles down and the money into improving myself)

Now, if I didn't alienate you with that, would any of you be going to BMWMOA in Ohio next month?
I hear you on all that (though being a geek-gear hound is ok! ). Though I find the testosterone displays sometimes annoying and often amusing, most of my buddies are guys. It goes with the hobby territory: motorcycles, paintball, scuba, firearms, roleplaying & computer games, and the hobby/job--computers (UNIX geek--I work too much but it pays for the toys). Not too many females in those areas.

I am thinking about going to BMWMOA myself as I need some "me" time, but I really need to put some cash into my F650 if I'm going to do that. It needs a new rear shoe and a service (no tools and no space to work here in VA at the mo). But I hear Bob's BMW up in MD (I am in NoVA) is top flight, so I can at least get it done right.

Has anyone found a BMWMOA thread in the outings/regional sub-forums? Any of you ladies name their m/c's the way the fellas do?

=RT=

Talking count me in..

Another girl here on the West Coast...

Regarding the testosterone on this website- I laugh at or simply ignore any lewd comments (It must be a form of male bonding, as well as flipping off the camera for any photos) Besides I have been on a local group ride here and just had lunch with local BMW group and found the men all to be very sweet.

I'm always very appreciative of the intelligent comments by the women on this board. AnnieGS is tops in my book!!
