Wheel Fitment: ADV to SE
Need some help determining if these will fit my 950SE. There's a set of wheels for sale in the Flea Market that appear to have come off a 950ADV.
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=868127 - The ADV rear will be a bit wider than the factory SE rim, right? - Can I remove left front disk, or will the mount interfere? - Will the right front disk on match the 950SE caliper offset? I'd like to have two sets of wheels mounted up for my 950 -- one street set, one dirt set. Trying to figure out if this would be an easy solution. Thanks! |

Those will absolutely fit. The front wheel will only need one rotor and the rear rim will be wider but the hub is the same.

Wheel swaps don't get any easier than what you have planned. I'm guessing you will use the stock SE wheels for the dirt tires and the Adventure wheels will have the tires which are better suited to paved road use mounted on them. The stock SE rims are stronger than the Adv rims so using the stronger wheels for the dirt riding would make sense, or at least it would to me. . |

I am interested in a 17/17 set if anyone knows of any going at a reasonable price.
I also looked at the 21/17/18 idea but like the idea that I can bang a 17" track sticky on for being stupid with, did this with my DR as well and loved they way I could tuck it in. ![]()

I thought the SE uses a thumper fork lug with the smaller diameter front axle. I remember this from when I built up a set of SE wheels for my ADV.
I am thinking that you could probably swap bearings and make an ADV hub work on an SE but it'd be much easier to buy the right wheel from the beginning...or simply swap rubber on the SE rim you already have. Rear hub is no different and a pretty nice setup for a low profile Scorpion for road with the wide 18".

The SE front axle is smaller (24mm) than the Adv's (30mm ??)

Adv wheels
The ADV hub bearings and internal spacer are the same as the Se. The out side spacers are what steps down to the smaller axle size. I know this for a fact because I have the adv hub with SE outer spacers on my SE for my street wheels.
