remooving rattle can paint from plastics...

going to pick up another it200 on monday, previous owner did a shitty rattle can job on it. if you know it200's you know how expensive plastics are for it..... so what works best? - i'm hoping it's not fusion paint, i'm hoping it's regular krylon or some other crappy paint... it looks like it's flaking already, so it probably wasn't prepped - maybe just acetone or gasoline and a scrub brush?? i'd rather not trash the plastics... anything looks better than rattle can plastics

Powerwasher, may just all peel right off. I'd be very careful with Acetone on some plastics.
Have tools, will travel!

Jasco paint remover. I have used this with good results. Might take more than one coat but it makes quick work of the job.

Sams Club, they have two purple degreasers. one is a degreaser concentrate, in a round gallon bottle, buy THAT one. DO NOT get it on your skin (trust me, I've learned the hard way) and WEAR A GD respirator, or use in a WELL ventilated area.

that will eat spraypaint off of anything. scuff it lightly, and it'll eat it clear off something. I've used it to undo my DR650's tank for powdrcoat, my friends R1 fairings, I may even use it to prep my TRUCK for paint...
Where does this road go? screw your maps! we're gonna find out the FUN way!

error 404: common sense not found.
