I think in this case "shants" is a neologism/portmanteau for "short pants". Too short to be pants, too long to be shorts.

"Sure but you have to get a ride to my house"
"For crissakes, Steve,I live a mile of the expressway"
"Well okay, I'll pick you up at the Hardee's at that exit."
I was steaming, but I had my dad drop me at the Hardee's. Steve ends up as a no show so I walk home and my dad relents and lets me use his car. I walk in to work very late and guess who's there? When I gave him a WTF? he just laughed, shrugged and said "Bummer, I forgot."

That night I'm out with my GF and I have her make a couple of phone calls to his house asking for him and then hanging up when the wife wants to know who's calling.
Steve's a no show on Monday. He had called the house after I left, wondering where I was. Tuesday he shows up bitching at me about "ditching" him. Told him to F*** off and get his own ride. Thing is, his faced and neck looked like he went 10 rounds with a big cat. Scratches every where. He did tell some of the other guys that the wife had gone nuts when some girl called at the house for him.

Now thats some crazy shit,kinda by all parties concerned.

I cant and wont put up with any woman/boss stalking/controlling/behaivourizing me. Its just not in me.
Not everyone is cut out to be married,its just the adds that make you think you should be.
I work for myself,live with a dog,but do have a girlfriend at this point in time. Ive seen people wreck their lives with a marriage they should have never been in,I think insecurity drives the whole mess.

A friend's GF used to do exactly the same thing. Actually she wasn't concerned about him eating lunch but drinking lunch was an entirely different matter. Ultimately he fucked up the company he was responsible for, got canned, and died of cirrhosis of the liver 9 months after.

Commercials are aimed at women, yes, because we do SPEND the majority of the money, no matter where it's coming from or who earns it. Please understand I'm speaking in generalizations and from my observations and opinions..just saying it IS important to analyze commercials and THINK about why they're feeding us specific information. While some of us CAN see through the mountains of capitalistic shit that's spoon fed to us daily, it's still important to think about this and to enlighten others as to what my best friend calls the "dominant social narrative" of society. We can't progress if we don't think for ourselves..all of us.

Had a wife now Ihave a girlfriend. much better. no certificate of ownership. I used to kickbox proffessionaly nothing great ,just club fights .My wife made me so miserable I quit. She saud cause we had a family ,I soon discovered it was a control thing. My girlfriend knows I have a a few hobbies & doesn't stress about it .I self regulate ^make sure I spend time doing things with her.
