there's nothing wrong with a Shadow.... a coworker buddy of mine has done about 4 cross country trips on one and has 90k on it with zero problems.
They are just somewhat limited in what they can do. the sv not so much

I totally agree with you, the Shadow was a great bike, rock solid reliability and she got me through more than one hairy situation, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I was just looking for something a little more fun, and I was sick of that leaned back/slouching seating position.
