Or am I somehow missing teh logic of this?
Don't get me wrong I like skomokia and the ships with that being said. I thought it was NWGS that posted up years before but I could b wrong

The comments after 2010 that were expressed was Skamokia was not epic enough so DW picked up the ball and put on an epic Wetfest at a different location, as for my first response, but that got slightly derailed.

OMB? out of Monroe to the northwest?
ain't that one rentable?
WetFest 2013,,somewhere we don't all need discovery passes to attend, and a place with a huge table or display shelves so that riceless950 (if he shows up) will can has a place to display all his years of first place trophies in all sorts of 'hardcore' events. That would need to be a big space, for turn around and such, cuz he'll need a huge truck to haul 'em ,,even a small portion of the mounds of them he has gathered.
Or we could use Oregon again,,and keep some reality involved.
Where is Pat? Where is Raindog?
Where is the point in any of this?
Off road WetFest,,Wolf Rock, no water, no stores, no cafes, no bullshit, just a whole mountainside of free space above the biggest frikken rock in the State!
that won't work for wimmen with new babies, still breast feeding ,never mind.
Where the fuck is WetFest?

Nope! That isn't the park. Altho it does have a big ass table made by the same people. What Peterman is talking about is "Hubert K. McBee Park". It is just down stream from Alsea Falls. It is privately owned by the Hull Oaks Lumber Company of Dawson, Oregon. Yes it is big enough, yes it is rentable, yes there is a lot of riding in that area but they wiped out all of the single track that we used to have there. Flat mtn is close by which is a huge private single track area owned by Starker Forestry. They have a permit entry system and are very restrictive ( sweet trails though). McBee is a great place to camp and we have staged many Moto Campouts there back in the 70's and 80's. And before you get any ideas...No I don't have the time to pull this together myself.

The place was great, but the riding was lacking. There was a distinct drop in attendance the last two years at Skamakowa.

Maybe Link was practicing for WetFest 2013?
And how did '11 stack up for attendance, as opposed to the attendance for Wenatchee? Which was pretty awesome at times without having to go anywhere, according to the photos Austin posted.

what is the expected attendance for a given wetfest event?
how much did it cost a Skamokawa?
could we reserve a county park or forest service park?
Lake Selmac?
Loon Lake?
Others?

Uh no.

Skankatowa is my favorite ride-to campsite and the little groups that show up at my watch the ships go by posts have been a blast. I like small gatherings with people I know.

Carry on

a venue suggestion

This is a pretty neat place - smack in the middle of the gorge, starting at $75 bucks a night (total) for up to 90 people...

showers are nice, tho I seldom use them,,
If everybody is in for a given amount of rental space/reservation costs, we can find something with enuff room and all the warm and fuzzy comforts as well.
Who knows of a favorite campsite capable of hosting 600 WetFest attendees?

Ideas?
No gravel pits!,,shade would be nice,, but grass for tent pitching is a must.
water,
toilets,
showers,,a plus!
beer available within 10 miles or so,
what do we need?
Marsters Springs out of Paisley is not big enuff, Page springs out of Frenchglen is big enuff if we took the whole park, but no showers.
Topsy Grade to the south, has great riding, but limited camping, no showers.
Somebody knows somebody with enuff room, and a creek we can pee in,,spout off!
Ideas?!!!!!

http://www.grantcountyfairgrounds.com/facilities.php

Grant county fairgrounds is for hire,,with all the shit we need,,basic rental is $350,,showers, a kitchen, a big bilding to hide in if it rains, tons of tent sites and RV spaces on site!
I camp there free on my way through town sometimes, the space along the river beside the horse arena is always open year round. They have no facility for you to pay for camping overnite, but there has never been a problem with showing up and pitching a tent.
So I send them some dollars each year to apply to their general fairgrounds fund.
A group effort would most likely be welcomed, they are very receptive to the annual BMW Riders of Oregon Rally (Chief Joseph Rally) each year, the town makes money, the folks are friendly and receptive, and it is right in the center of some of the best riding in the state, gravel or asphalt.
it's a thought,,

Skamania county fairgrounds. Right in the Gorge. Not far from epic GPNF single track. A quick website check says $250 plus insurance. I've been there for a couple of Sound Rider rally in the gorge events.

Just a thought. Too bad it's in Worshington.
