Who conversed in Russian with this fellow during that evening?

I enjoy your report immensely, your stories are awesome

We did. It is amazing how far you can get with finger language, a few words in Russian and other languages. You just keep an open mind and try :-)

It can only be interesting a conversation with vodka being common ground . Absolute killer river crossing footage. Shit just imagine how many vehicles dont make it through.

Walter & Terry, thanks for taking us along your journey; I have truly enjoyed your writing & pictures. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that RRs such as yours are a great source of inspiration to the rest of us to attempt trips such as this.

Geir & fellow vikings, thank you for taking us the rest of the way to Magadan. Your pictures are fantastic, and I cant wait see how the remainder of the trip unfurls.

I thought the Russian Screw Machine would have been Putin making a speech.

Back to Moscow

After seeing the guys all ride off a few days earlier, Adrian heading West and Geir, Erik and Steve heading East, Terry and I said goodbye to our handy helper in Yakutsk ... a local lawyer lady who introduced us to a freight company there that we ended up using.

Then we flew to Moscow to be met at the airport by TonyP. Terry stayed with Tony a couple of days before flying back to sunny Cambridge, England. I stayed with Boris a few days to discuss the spare parts business, before getting the message Iker the Basque (of Vitim Bridge fame) was in town, waiting for his bike to get airfreighted in from Magadan. TonyP and I met him in Moscow, with Tony driving him out to the airport a couple of times to pick up his bike.

Meanwhile, all eyes were now glued to the spot website, watching the progress of EtronX and the boys about to begin the Old Summer Road

Slight aside: I'm well into "Genghis Khan: And the making of the modern World" and it is a real revelation.
Thank you.

The really helpful lawyer lady was Alexandra Lebedeva.

She was real good to us and spoke fluent english, a really lovely girl.

She now lives in St. petersburg.

You all, everyone - pruster, beemster, teebee, rod currie, walter everyone else have now trained and patterned us to be like a paslov dog - we go to the ride report every day to get our fix.

just kidding. have fun, family is a one time go around. ride reports, meh, in the scheme and scope of life.

Although, I already have withdrawl symtems and feel a week long adult beverage consumption binge coming on

Thanks to EVERYONE contributing to the epic RR. its a daily kick in the pants
