Comparing with your other reviews...With the helmet cam you're a little lazzy to take photos or it's just my impression?

I apologize if it has been asked or answered before, but I have yet to read up on the older posts of this RR.
You don't seem to be afraid to get water into the air filter housing, not even when the water reaches the headlights, did you ever have to dry it out to be able to continue?
Do you speak russian?
And lastly, you seem to have planned these tracks using Google Maps or Earth, did you use routes that were known on maps or did you use maximum zoom to guess what would be passable and what wouldn't?
Thanks!

Geez, this is the second comment like this. I like the helmet cam pics, they give a great "you were there" feel and a very good idea about road conditions. And I'm not sure if it is fair to call someone "lazy" for spending hours to pick out the stills, post them, give interesting commentary, etc. Cut Colebatch some slack guys!

"LAZZY" WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? He's the opposite.

It's a better format and more closely reflexes the ride experience...When riding, I watch the track....what do you watch?

I'm sure all the high quality stills you miss will be in the book and on the DVD, so be sure to buy them and support the cause.

People are funny. I cant imagine criticizing walter for anything he posts. A RR like this goes way beyond free entertainment, bordering on enlightenment.

i been following walters rr for a while, he does an awesome job. i would venture to guess most people have never took the time to write up a rr so can't really appreciate the time and effort he puts into his.

no complaints here walter, nicely done.... as usual.

i would also add that in my opinion everyone should have to contribute a rr before they can become a full member here. but thats just me i guess.

On one hand ... I was trying to film it as much as photograph it.

On the other hand, I still have 3-5 top camera pics per day, which is similar to the number of pics I normally get on a trip .... it just means instead of just 3-5 pics a day, I have an additional 30-40 pics a day on the days I use the go pro.

I still have the same amount ... 3-5 good camera pics per day. You can still find them if you look thru the posts. Actually if you look at this last day, with all the river crossings, there are about 15 pics from my camera all up for this one day. They are easy to spot in amongst the mix because of the quality of the images.

I just also have a lot more detail in the form of fill from the helmet cam

OK...seems that maybe it's just my thoughts....with additional onboard pics the other ones seems to be less...no more complains about that...:)

I really like the helmet cam pics. It gives a better perspective. You've obviously never sifted through weeks of video before yourself?

Vicariously subscribed, as always.

Engine drowning?

This had me wondering too. I once drove through a puddle that turned out to be a bit deeper than I first thought - result: bent con rods, an engine rebuild and new clutch (this was a car) I would be very nervous of doing the same to my bike.

Your cameras, laptop etc. are you not worried about getting them wet? I use waterproof bags and stuff which is fine in rain, but I wouldn't feel confident with a full immersion.
