Um, I don't get it, it's better but the engine and tranny were weak after 1 year?

punctuation is important.

this is how I read it:

Engine and Transmission weak. After 1 Year, sold it

Loving the old bikes, keep 'em coming.

Have had a bit of a selection of older stuff (81 CR80, 86 CR125, twinshock CZ380) but currently have a 1988 DR125 and a 1990 KTM 250SX that's slowly becoming an EXC.

Over here we have a few vintage/classic enduros (have a look at vindurouk.com) - a few of us are racing in Cumbria this coming Sunday but we're in with the modern bikes. That wouldn't be too bad on the KTM but I'm doing it on the DR

It's surprisingly agile, actually quite quick on the right terrain, though i've geared it right down and it only does about 45mph flat out now, but it means I can run 2nd and 3rd a bit more in the woods.

Can't upload pics here directly yet but hopefully this will work

EDIT: I can see it on mine so it might have worked! Just waiting for a fresh set of handguards to arrive - hence only one in the pic

Just love those old 2 stroke dual shock bikes. And look at the seats. You could probably ride in comfort all day on one of those.

The, uh, 'limited' suspension more than makes up for the cushy seat.

Why do they now build all the dual purpose bikes with such high seat heights today? My 72 Bultaco 6 day was perfect.

I need to quit looking at this thread, it's making me want an old early-70's Yamaha enduro.

This is a 1965 Bultaco Campera 175 that I rode in several actual enduroes way back then. I always thought the Japanese based their enduro models of the late 60's on these Spanish and other European prototypes. (Not my actual bike, but a web picture.)
