No oil light

My oil light is not coming on when I turn the key on. Is this normal? I thought the oil light stays on when the bike is not running.

The plug is off the sensor.

Never mind it's on the left side of the engine. Looks like I'm gonna have to pull the tank.

Yep, you have to pull the left tank.

It's either what Chukracer mentioned or a faulty sensor.

You are correct sir. Pulled the tank today and it was off the sensor. Glad that is all that it was though. I was able to slide it back on without pulling the carbs, so that was nice.

A wise old mechanic (my Dad) taught me early on to "Always check the simple stuff first". He's hardly ever wrong.
