How far back?....

...in time would the best 2012 collage team have to go to beat the NFL superbowl champ? Collage players are so much fast, stronger and bigger then NFL players of the past, but when did it shift? Could the 2012 Alabama team beat the '75 Pittsburgh Steelers? Farther back? Closer?

couple of things I found interesting from a NY times piece--average weight of offensive lineman for the GB Packers in SB 1-260.

Number of players in the NFL who weight 300 lbs.

1970- 1 player

1980- 3 players

1990-94 players

2001- 301 players

2009- 394

2010- 532

Don't know how relevant all that is, but I thought it was interesting.
