690 for 2013 in the US, no 390 though.

Even the 690 on the USA site is listed as the Euro spec bike.

Found the page but no sign of it coming to the US.
http://www.ktm.com/fr/actualites-eve.../390-duke.html Nice vid but not alot of detail visible, no fork adjusters on the top anyway. |

I notice that the KTM dispenses with floating rotors in both the front and rear brakes which allow the rotor to expand and contract without warping. The newer cheap Hondas do this as well and go one step further by eliminating the carrier as well--bolting the rotor directly to the wheel.

I didn't see it on the page, that's the word I have though. There will be a 690.

Yes...floating rotor. Never heard of a floating caliper.

Floating rotors have a nice little jingle when the bike is running and stopped. The rotors float on buttons, like rivits that allow it to expand/contract freely. Premium brake rotors are designed this way, look at better sumoto rotors to see them. Some even have replaceable buttons to keep them from getting too loose.
Doesn't matter much if it isn't coming anyway! |

Got it! Clear as crystal, actually. Not at all what the term means in the automotive world.

floating rotor.
The rotor doesn't contact the spider or carrier, but floats on the buttons. High quality brakes use this design. |

Still no sign of it as a USA bound model on the KTM site. I'd say you might see it as a 2014, but even that I kinda doubt unless the stripped down 690 Duke just blows out of the dealerships. Not likely IMO.
