I know exactly what is going to happen! I'll buy a new URAL and then, a year later, URAL will introduce triple disc brakes. Someone mentioned that they have a new CNC machine at the Russian factory. It's just a matter of time. My timeframe is a late 2013 or early 2014 purchase. Disc brakes would be the huge upgrade that I would love to see. Been waiting a long time.

The oar and teeth graphics are in reference to the Yamal icebreaker, I understand that. But how is that oar useful on the URAL rig? It's just strange. I'd still need to buy a shovel and bracket.

They have an old CNC machine at the factory that is being upgraded to G-code by the Ural dealer from Halifax, Canada. Probably speed up crankcase production a wee bit.

Could come in handy if you happen to use vehicular ferries often?

How to Survive a Sinking Ship

Quote:
It's believed that tens of thousands of boats sink every year, although there aren't exact statistics. Many of these are docked boats, but a lot of them sink at sea -- from ferries and freighters to sailboats and yachts.Would you know what to do if your ship went down? Does it mean certain death? You'll be relieved to find out that you can survive a sinking ship or boat if you remain calm and take the right steps.
At least you'd have a paddle (oar) handy!

The "warning" label on the paddle.

Hey sp4Mike

Your blog says that you now are not getting one. What changed your mind?

I wish I could buy it, the timing is just plain terrible for me.

I'm going to look at it tomorrow though. I'll post pic's on the blog.

I think it would look much better without the whale shaped "teeth" sticker on the tub, it just looks off for some reason.

+1
It's not that I don't like teeth. I just don't like those teeth, and don't like them on the orange background. The sticker looks cheesey to me, in a ghetto way. But then, I'm not a big fan of stickers anyway.

OTOH, I LOVE the warning on the paddle

But thats what makes the paint. Hiw can you not love those teeth. I thought about painting a huge smile on the front of my tub,but we are doing something different...My rig is to black..Needs major color...I'd like tto see one in person...

It's like JustKip said - I don't have a problem with teeth (even if I do think it's a bit overplayed like flames on a tank), it's *those* teeth on the tub that I don't like. I think it's the overall shape of the graphic and the fact that I think it's way too small in comparison to the size of the tub. Some samples of ones that I think pull it off much better:

I think it looks terrible. Having a paddle seems stupid to me. I would rather see a model with an open 2wd diff that can be locked and a winch. That paddle isn't going to help me off road.
