The Goldwing looks just like my buddy`s after he wrecked it. (short shield & ripped off top box) Honda really thinks there going to steer people away from the Street glide , Vision 8 ball & Kawi`s (how ever you pronounce it)
I gave up bar hopping looking bikes a long time ago , when i found out back country roads are much more fun on sport & sport tourers.

Funny how there site still only shows the 2012 ST1300 (hmmm i wounder) maybe, just maybe, there just holding out

I think the manufacturers are trying to make the best of it, but ironically the new laws might create more bikers rather than less: car insurance here is through the roof, if you are under 24 then the average quote, per year, is 2400.

It's much easier to insure a low-bhp bike, accrue the no-claims discount, and think about a car later if you need to. In fact car lessons and tests are dropping, while sales of 125cc bikes are relatively bouyant.

The NC700X, also sub-50bhp, has been an unexpected sales success too, Top 10 in the UK. Some of the sexy bikes with multi-page threads in the bike press don't get into the Top 100.

The other major factor, of course, is our very high fuel prices.

Nothing groundbreaking, but probably some good things. small cc bikes seem to be gaining popularity, so the line-up of 500cc bikes sounds good. The new goldwing won't be for everybody, but it should sell.

And I am thinking, price depending, the CB1100 will sell out quick.

Huh. I was wrong.

The cheap naked one makes some sense. The faux sportbike and faux adventure versions don't do much for me.

pretty good indeed

well I am excited this morning here in Colorado- seeing new choices is never bad- and they cannot go way out on limbs because in this economy that would be dangerous and people say they will buy but hardly do- that said lots of choices and al in good categories Id say- that 500 series will sell (as seen by the 250 success across the board) and the gold wing is actually cool in my eyes (beyond my wallet) but cool! good job Honda- again, choices help!!!

All I can say is Honda delivered!
Man, it's almost too many bikes to choose from! I want a red CBR500, a CB1100, and a Gold Wing! I need a new job!

Yeah, I think Honda did a great job this year. Although I'm personally not in the market for a large cruiser, the new wing looks surprisingly nice IMO. Especially since I don't like the look of it's unchopped sister.
I think at $10,000 the CB1100 is priced right and I can't say enough about $5500 for the 500's. Hell, that's less then a few 300cc scooters on the market.

That chopped Goldwing looks kinda cool on the front...but the rear looks like a jumbo scooter. Since this bagger class is much about looks, I don't know if many folks are going to migrate to it.

Also, no ABS according to website. Seems strange.

that's exactly how i interpreted the likely differences.

it should indeed attract people. people like me.
