Highest mileage: old school inline 4, air cooled
I think highly of all the UJM I've had. Especially my current 2 Honda CB900C's.
One has 33,500 miles (12,000 mine in the yr I've had it) and the other has 17,000 (1,000 mine in 4 months). Neither has had any major maintenance done that I'm aware of. Who's got the most miles on their old inline 4? Somebody speak up, I know old Hondas can give a BMW a run for its money!!!

OK.
1976 Honda 750/4K6, 30K miles. Then htorodded it, it used to last 1000miles between new cases (but ran mid-11s). 1980 Kwasaki Z750E. First owner did 20K miles, then I got it, and proceeded to average between 25-27K miles (about 35-40K km) every year.....for the next 11 years. I lost count of the times round the clock, but do know I only needed 3 top end overhauls in all that distance, never touched under the barrels or the box. Still in my son-in-law's shed, with 29mm smoothbores, 12:1 comp........and 17 frame cracks! ![]() 1978 GS1000 (belongs to a mate), has 220K km on it, never had the rocker cover off. Will that do to start you rekn?

Do twins count? (I thought I'd add something else to cover up the foobar above 1982 GSX250, belongs to my daughter, previous one-owner with tune-up history, rebuilt once at the 76K km mark, now still running sweet at 83K km. 1973 Honda CB350K4, in the shed with 67K miles. Was rebuilt at the 52K mile mark, which was about 3000 miles after I bought it and started riding it like the 17 yr old I was.

XJ650, with the speedo currently showing ~108K miles, after rolling it over.
I cheated a little bit... it's got a 750 Seca engine in it, that's a few thou less than that number. It's getting a little tired, and really likes oil....a fun pace cosumes about a quart per thousand. The only external evidence is a little headgasket weep @ the usual place. I've adjusted a few valves on this one, but most are still using the same shims that the factory put in more than three decades ago. The only repair was replacing the OEM coils a few years ago with a set from a VF of the same era. A friend of mine also has a 650 Seca that he bought new-in-the box in the mid-80's, and he finally rebuilt the top end a few years ago when it was over 130K. I rode it just before then, and even though it was really tired, it ran fine. The last straw that finally forced the freshen-up was a head-gasket (oil) leak. The FDs on both of these bikes have seen no maintenance other than changing the lube back there every few years.

From 1975 to 1988 I put 65,000 miles on my Kawasaki Z-1B. One of these days I'll get it out of the bus and back on the road. Maybe.

1977 Honda 750 F2
I had my 1977 Honda 750 F2 since 1978. Even though I had a broken speedo cable for a few years I had 47,763 miles on the odometer and just sold it 2 years ago. Those were some hard miles and it never let me down.
Rode it right through the winters as long as there was no snow on the roads.

Keep'em coming...
I misspoke about maint. on my cb900's. I did recently do the rotor, stator, regulator deal. Got stator rebuilt by Tim parrot in alabama, and the other parts were new. The 900 w/ 34k eats a 1/2 qt every once in a while. Not as much when I use 20w-50. And it went down after I cleaned overflow trap for airbox. Kept oil from leaking / venting out of tac cable....

My XJ900 has about 120000km on it (something like 80000m). Had a Kawasaki 550, the shaft drive version, wich I sold with 123000km on it. A gsx400e (the twin): 65000km.
In the 80's or early nineties, some guy dit 250000km on a FJ1200 in one year. Trashed an engine because of a broken chain (the one to the rear wheel, nothing to do with the engine) at 170000km. Besides that I've read numerous articles about high mileage bikes: CB550F with 250.000, FJ1200 with 300000km and counting, a XJ900 with sidecar: 400000km, XJ/FJ600 with 300000km (that guy went to travel the world when his commuter bike had 200k on the odometer). My XJ (spring this year, 112000km then): ![]() The Kawasaki:

118,800+ miles and counting on my 1983 Suzuki GS850G. All but about 24K are mine. Still gets flogged mercilessly -- these engines LOVE to spin, and old Suzukis handle beautifully with a bit of simple suspension work.

I had an 81 gs450, and it was so fun, suspension was truly pathetic. Loved it, charging system was crap though...
