Carnegie OHV Park, Ca ??

Has anyone visited this park (near Livermore) with their Trials bike? Would it be useful for a beginner?

I have riden my 450 there. It's mainly know for the big loose hill climbs. Learing to trail ride on a trials bike is a skill to learn too. My first trials even at Frank Raines I though riding between the sections was the hardest part. I have since learned to trial ride.

Carnegie has a dedicated trials area. You can see it on the map by the MX track.

I saw a picture from it once with a guy riding over a large concrete pipe. Only OHV area I know of that has a trials area.

I'm sure it would be a great place to ride.

Yes and absolutely not. You need a legal bike to get in.

Metcalf has a trials area right next to the parking lot.

I rode a PITS sunday event at Carnegie. There was enough interesting stuff to make sections but they were spread far apart. It'd be hard to find them without someone to show you where they are.

So I went to Carnegie on Sunday and found the fabled trials area (you can actually see it from the street). It had lots of interesting obstacles for a beginner like me. Lots of different size logs, awkward rocks and some bigger stuff that I'm not ready for yet!

Interestingly they didn't check for a sticker but I did see signs saying it was required. The place was packed full of Moto x guys. Some of them even came over to watch me drop the bike on the ground repeatedly.

Best of all, entrance was $5! Finally my tax dollars being spent on something I approve of!

Carnegie is amazing... you should try some of the trails next time there. Lots can be learned from trail riding too.
