Cool2 Lonewolf Western US KLR Roadtrip!!

Hey everybody! I'm 20 years old guy and I'm originally from Finland. I don't usually talk or write much as you will notice(at least the writing part). I've been deciding for a long time where to go this summer with my KLR and finally I was able to decide that I just go.
I've got everything ready and I'll leave Houston, TX behind tomorrow if I receive my saddlebags today and I'll be gone for about a month. I will update my location & possible direction "en route".

I will camp somewhere every night and I packed as minimally as I could, though I have all the camping gear and more or less 'one' set of spare clothes...I'll try to post pics as often as I can, but I probably won't write a lot because I'll be KLRing most of the time

Just a picture from my short February '14 ride @ Lost maples state park

Alright, yesterday in summary: I rode from Houston to a resting area near Amarillo, got a few hours of sleep until I woke up early to the classic Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up" and couldn't sleep after that haha, and not so surprisingly I got moderate fever and I'm staying at a motel in Amarillo today to get rid of this sickness...

Sounds like a great trip to me. Hope you start to feel better and are able to continue soon.

Looks like the trip will continue tomorrow morning with a bit of rain, but fortunately I prepared to ride in the rain and it won't really bother me. + Now that I've got faster connection, I can post the first photo of the trip.

I'm in Houston, so I'm going to follow along on your trip. Now that you are out of Texas the weather should be cooling off.

Finally found decently fast WiFi & I can share a bit more. I left Amarillo yesterday morning, fortunately without any noticeable sickness and rode through NE New Mexico and a bit on I25 in Colorado up to Pueblo and then headed west on hw50 through a couple of rain zones. Then I got past Cañon City and found a good camping spot under a tree under which I fit both my KLR and tent. I swam in the river next to my campsite & woke up happily in great mountain valley. So far I'm feeling great about the trip and I'll try to continue posting updates when I get a chance. Btw, if anybody is interested, here's GPS coordinates to my campsite(I hope it shows the correct place, it should be between Canon City and Salida on hw50): 38.416575, -105.574925
