Bike is doing good...got a small oil leak in the trans that I'm getting fixed saturday..

I was debating weather or not to fix it.. with it leaking it forces me to check it after every ride... well almost every other ride or two or three.

on second thought, I'd better fix it.....

My '05 had a "small leak in the tranny".

$1,700.00 later.................

Rear main seal and it had soaked the clutch.

Get it fixed Dan.

the only problem is I can't ride eighteone of them...

looks like a grand total of about $800.00 in parts... (atually $1043.54)

That's if I don't need a new input shaft. (the splines striped out of the clutch disk and the splines on the trans are a little funky)

this is just the shifter shaft seal...

I just had the trans totally re-built at the dealer... ($1678.58)
this one is on them...

but I'm sure they'll find a way to make it worth there while, so I'm gonna give them a gimme...

I'm gonna let them do my valves and sync my throttle bodies while its there. that way I'm getting a lil and they don't feel like they did somthing for free...

On another note...........

I was reading the thread on the new wethead and apparently the "wet" clutch is in the front of the engine.

The transmission, IIRC, is on the back.

This should prove interesting.

Yes, My shifter shaft seal is leakin..

the place near cabela's told me to bring it up sat and they can replace it while i wait....

maybe you can meet me there and we can take a coupe of bike for a test ride, while the fix me up

I got to call them thurs or friday to confirm the appointment..
I want them to do my valves and sync my throtle bodies while it there..

but the bike has to compleetly cool for them to do the valves...

I figure I'll get there a lil before they open on sat and while they are doing the shifter seal the bike will be cooling down so they can do the valves...
