Calling on Texas/DFW area people

When you guys get together for rides, where do you normally go? How much on road riding and how much off road riding?

Would you guys mind listing which bikes you own and why you chose them?

Would love to join the ranks and trying to do as much research as I can so I can get the best bike for the job.

As you might expect, everybody is riding "something" "somewhere" about every weekend. Pretty active thread of little bike folks riding trails at Red River. Pretty active thread of folks riding dirt roads Southwest of you. "Centex".

Texas has a dearth of public single track but 1000's of miles of maintained and less maintained unpaved roads making the larger dual sports (650 and above) the best choice for casual weekend riding. But that's just my opinion.

Actually Texas has over 80,000 miles of paved roads. Alot of variety and varied terrain to explore, head in any direction and you are sure to find something very nice.

I just bought a Honda CRF250L,live in Arlington and work in Dallas near downtown. Bought the bike to ride to work and hit some trails. I'm 48 so not going to get too crazy. I'm looking for some good trails near Arlington if you know of any. Have ridin a few old construction sites with decent trails and some nice hills but the sites just aren't big enough. Anyway, if you know of any good trails I'd appreciate letting me know.
