Ducati looking to keep Hayden?

Didn't see it posted so sorry if its 205

Looks like Ducati is trying to keep Hayden on in some form or another. My guess is that they don't want to lose much of the American market. Not saying Hayden directly affects sales but....

Honestly, I don't even know if Casey could ride that POS right now as it is. He was on a steady decline of win it or bin it and nothing in the middle his last 2 years at Duck. I hate to see Hayden go to WSBK or step down, as I think honestly if he was put on a competitive machine he WOULD be competitive again. He was faster or right behind Vale on the Duck. He faster or right behind Dovi on the Duck. Vale is good for wins, Dovi is good for podiums. That speaks volumes for Hayden.

Back to Honda on a Sat ride with factory backing, I would love to see this.

Also as for Hayden's help on Ducks market share. All the replica 848's sold out before they were even on the floor. He's pretty huge and has a shit ton of fans.

Yes. Hayden is on the older end of the spectrum, but he is still fast. I'd love to see him have one more chance on a competitive machine. I saw both Hayden and Spies racing in CMRA back in Texas in the 90's when I was there. They were just kids, I don't know, 13 or so, on RS125's. It was obvious even then they were not just another up and coming racer.

I was doing some re-reading tonight, came across an old column of Kevin Cameron's.
If Ducati want to know how to fix what they have, maybe they should do a bit of re-reading as well.

For starters, Kevin's February 2005 Top Dead Center column, "The Best".

That might get the new management pointed closer to the right direction.

I'm glad you can because I think he will still gripe about how he was let down by his ride, company , sponsors that he never supported, and fellow riders.
