Nicky has some interesting comments on a carbon frame that Ducati tested in 2011 and abandoned after Rossi rejected it.

I am sure it is a moot point, now, but interesting nonetheless.

This is abundantly obvious now, I think. The problem wasn't, and isn't, the material, but the math, and the process by which problems are identified and solutions applied. Going back to that CF chassis now would only highlight that Ducati is lost and rudderless. Or was, we're told now.

Im thinking this is a red herring to make sure Ducati doesn't improve next year while Nicky is on a different bike.
