Any predictions when Ducati takes their ball and goes home to WSBK? How long, even with Audi $dough, can they keep pouring the millions into that mid pack bike like its a boat (a hole in the water where you throw money)?

Maybe they will change the cc size to 800 again and Ducati will have the field by 10+mph...if that happens Dovi will start winning and they will proclaim him as the "best"

Unless there is some magical breakthrough,I predict the demise of Ducati in Gp when their contract expires.The reason being that the tobacco dudes have just about had enough of NO RESULTS from there investments...jus sayin...
With that being said, I think Audi will see the handwriting on the wall rather quickly,especially when the CFO tabulates the costs...

Good point; Ducati sales aren't entirely based on race results. As long as John Q Public sees the name in lights once in a while and a few red bikes at Starbucks, they'll sell. I wonder how many Ducati riders can even name 3 MotoGP riders of ANY brand, let alone a Duc?
They are gorgeous bikes and have a mystique, so as long as people buy 'em, I don't know how much their performance matters. After all, look how many KLR's get sold each year.

It's called "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT".
It takes time for at least some time for the Audi guys to gather up enough of their own data before making changes.
Let them at least start.
It would be stupid of Audi to toss in the towel on MotoGP so quickly, BMW may end up there depending upon rules. Besides, Audi know there is brand value in racing success.

WHY....WHY hasn't Ducati closed up MotoGP shop and poured a fraction of the MGP $$$ into their WSBK budget?

They are already pretty friggin' close to the front of World Superbike. Take, I don't know, 25% of the prototype budget and make the Panigale a WSBK pole sitter and race winner.

Maybe Audi will see the light when a CRT bike or two pummels a couple of their factory riders.

Maybe B.S. has some insider info about the next few years in both MGP and WSBK and he is factoring it in????

2006 MotoGP world champion Nick Hayden does not sound terribly surprised to find his name tenth-fastest on the timing sheets after day one of the Sepang MotoGP test. Ducati made it clear at their recent team introduction that they were not going to debut a new Ducati GP bike until they fully understood what the current one can and cannot do, its weak points and strong points all filtered through a new team structure. Thus Hayden is basically riding the same motorcycle today that he did in late 2012.
