New and old Houwhoek pass

I'm into geocaching
A friend tried to find a cache on the old Houwhoek pass, without success
I found it quite a while ago, and wanted to check if it's still there
Took the tar road up the new pass

And then turn-off to the old pass, where tar meets gravel

There is still a train running on these tracks

Stunning valley

Ground zero, alas, no cache

Keep on the tracks

Went up a hill where one can actually see there are two bridges on the old pass

The road is quite sandy and a lot of loose rocks after the last rains

Stunning road indeed

The end in sight

A final resting place, not today

Botriver town

A well deserved cold one

What a nice trip, indeed
