Congrads, I was going to offer up the V-Strom, as I think it is a nice bike for touring and some gravel, Adventure touring they call it. But since you bought the triump, more power to ya, keep the Harley, for old time sakes. They are good bikes too, you can ride two easily, I do, actually three....

Congrats on your new Tiger. Great bikes.
The wife rides her own bikes. We have a couple of DR 650s, Her Wee, which was mine first, and my 800XC.
Personally, the Tiger is the better bike. The little DRs are a blast too tho.
Oh, and I still have a 1965 Honda 305 Scrambler. Fun bike to ride around. Not quite a Tiger but sure gets tons of looks and comments. I got it since 1965 was the year I started riding and one of my first bikes.

Over 60, waist and bad knees make for an interesting choice in rides.

Currently had an 08 Uly X lowered with a Buell TT shock. Both feet on the ground at most stop lights.

Uly is a big girl at over 500 filled with fluids. She handles it well at speed. Great ride for anything other than single track off road.

Just ordered a set of TCC80s for both ends. Not a dirt bike, but gravel road worthy,

just so we're are the same naming page.
dual-sports are singles/thumpers ie lighter.
bikes like 800 tigers etc. are beasts and called that for a reason, they get very heavy in the dirt. i've heard people call GS ADV dual-sports and that's nuts.

where are you using this bike? exploring alot of dirt roads and such or mostly paved with some dirt roads. if you plan on getting into alot of dirt you'll realize quickly why they are called beasts. a 650 or smaller thumper might be better.
