The other maintenance required is the same required of all bikes....fluids, filters, the occasional throttle body synch for EFI bikes The CB1100 valve lash check interval is 8,000 miles. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...&postcount=445

If so, there shouldn't be much of a TB sync required, I don't believe.

Correct. And the new V7s are single throttle body also.

Hey Dave! Long time...
![]() BTW, ya'll need to stop this. See, I'm sick and tired of syncing TB's on my 12GS. I yearn for the simplicity of a single TB bike. Ya'll are giving candy to a diabetic. ![]()

I'm not really interested in the California, but the Stelvio has been really interesting to me. So, I started looking for a dealer hoping I could go look at one. I'm still not sure where the closest dealer to me is. Several pages back, there was some discussion about dealer websites. Some had the opinion the only thing needed on one is the contact phone number. I disagree. I'd like to see more dealer information and inventory. I know I can call them, but I'd like to be able to just check it myself at my convenience.
Bottom line, I still haven't seen a Stelvio. Oh well. I'm not seriously in the market at the moment anyway. Not really. Although, I wasn't in the market when I bought my last bike either. Best of luck to MG. My main issue with them is the lack of very many dealers, at least that I can find. To be clear, I did use the MG website to find my closest dealer. Their web site indicates they have all of two MGs. They seem to mostly sell scooters with a variety of used bikes of various brands thrown in. I guess, I am just used to more. It sounds like this in normal in the MG world though. DynaSport screwed with this post 12-10-2012 at 05:14 AM |

550 miles? I know you're in western Kansas, but you're not that far from Tulsa, are you? Or Denver? That being said, I haven't had a Moto Guzzi to a dealer since 2005. Need the efi tuned on my Quota. Included a stop at MPH Cycles in Houston into my trip plan. Worked out great. Since that time, no dealer service has been required. It's amazing to me how these efi bikes stay in tune for so many miles!

Divide that into the number of dealers here, and that's not much inventory. Many bikes are presold right now, so there just aren't many current models sitting on dealer sales floors.

I'm kind of anxious to see the new Cali, though I'm not in the market for another bike at the moment. I've only had my ElectraGlide for about a month and less than 1k miles. I rode my '08 Norge to Key West and back in September and discovered I'd gotten too old for 500 mile days in the sport touring position. Hated to see it go as it was a great bike, but I'm planning about a 6k mile trip in May and didn't want to do it with that much shoulder pain. I've become a real fan of the Guzzis in the last few years. The past Californias are pretty impressive bikes with plenty of power and the best handling I've ever experienced in a cruiser. If the 1400 is an improvement on the old ones, it's going to be a really fine bike.

I am not a cruiser guy, but that is a nice bike.
Full of character, beautiful, real brakes, powerful engine, 100 lbs lighter than a Harley. To me, this bike much more appealing than any Harley cruiser, not to mention, a much better bang for your buck. That, and you will never see another one, while you might see about, oh, 1,000,000 Road Kings.

Piaggio and Aprillia keep the sales flowing, so they can put a few Guzzi on the floor. You might have to travel a bit, but getting your leg over a Guzzi might be worth it.

![]() The Stelvio has been flying off the shelves - most were presold before they showed up in port back in June. I wasn't worried about having to see it in person or test ride it.... I pretty much knew what it was about before I rode it home.

What I got out of the following ride report below:
http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=58836.0 To replace the rear tire you have to remove the bags(no quick release on these), and the mufflers. Would be tough to put highway pegs on(wide). Leg clearance to manifolds-possible heat issue. No center stand. I like the looks of this bike. I've never had a MG but am looking at this one(the touring model). My only concern would be the heat issue. Going to have to check this one out when they get here. Pete |
