Departing in AM from SLC for points South!

Hi All,

I have been planning(if that is the right word) this trip for a while. I am leaving SLC in the morning headed to SF and then will be in Tijuana on Monday the 19th. I will cross there and get all my paper work, tvip and so on.

If anyone else is down there or headed down there and is looking for a riding partner let me know as I will be solo. I am wide open on itinerary and up for anything.

I am on a well equipped DL650 and not afraid of dirt roads and the like. I want to see ALL of Mexico and Central America, ALL of it.

Made it to San Francisco today. While waiting for a friend to get off work I thought I would see the city. I cruised around for an hour or so in the rain. I decided I had enough and started looking for the giant orange and white antenna to geo-locate myself. I locked on and started making my way to the friends house. Coming through a green light someone decided to turn left in front of me and I laid it down at 40 mph. I slid about 80 feet before jumping to my feet and waving to make sure everyone knew I was ok.

I'll be here for the next day or two straightening my bent pannier racks and making sure everything else is ok.

If anyone wants to grab a beer let me know!

In time, all good things will come. In this instance a slip shod slapped together and poorly written trip report will be started in the Trip Reports forum where it will sort of fit in.
