V Strom Evap System

Team,

Not sure if anyone would have experience with this but it is worth a try. I had to get a new set of throttle bodies for my 2007 DL650 and they came without provisions to hook up the hose for the Evap purge (my bike is originally from the People Republic of California). I was going to cap the hose and run with it but if I do that wont the canister over saturate and cause trouble? If I remove it completely do I run the risk of anything bad with the tank not being able to vent??

Thanks for the help.

Unless your bike gets inspected, I would just remove the whole thing. Take the vent hose from the gas tank and run it toward the ground. The tank should have a vent line and a return line. Figure out which is which and cap the return line barb. Since your TB's don't have the barb, then there should be nothing else to cap off.

That was my thought too. I just wanted to get some reinforcement. Thanks.

I was working on a throttle body sync and the screw for the front cylinder was seized into the throttle body. Couldn't be saved.

The later models run to the air cleaner box. Check to see if there is a hose you can Tee off of the air box. No problems with emissions then.

I got it all buttoned up today. I ran the vent down low and put a full tank of fuel in it. so far so good. If anyone needs any DL 650 throttle body parts I have some.
