KLR Fly & Ride; Virginia to New Mexico

Thought I would share my trip a bit here with my trials homies.

I was thinking about you guys while I was doing this.

So I could then do this.

Then I took some pictures

I have the same tailbox on a 2009- for the money, they are great. Waterproof, dustproof, locks well enough to keep the curious out of it, and it was affordable at like 69 bucks.

Great bike you found.

He's living the dream doing exactly what I wish I was doing, spending a few weeks on the road, having adventures. I hope you ride report this thing Tony cuz "ll subscribe....and watch my erstwhile bike.

Picture from Rob, previous owner.

I'll have to get a picture posted of Tony leaving with the KLR as he had it so loaded up with a tiny cockpit to sit in. He almost dumped it before he rode it as it was sinking into the asphalt So glad all is well. And that was a decent storm that rolled through I gotta say. Keep the shiny--well its a KLR--side up and out of the ditches. Watch out for deer too Tony. Bucks are chasing the ladies right now and make early morning and dusk particularly dangerous.

Here he is getting ready to disembark and he didn't even test ride. Brave man ready for an awesome adventure.

SOLD to a good home!!

Loaded-up...
I think if he really tried, he could have fit something more on the bike. Good thing he decided on the back way, that way he could dodge the weigh stations.

Looking at the picture a little more, if you had a tool tube, you could have probably fit another 10-15 lbs of stuff in it. Just sayin'.

Plus, she's a red one. Everybody knows that the red ones are the fastest.

As far as the seat goes, if your butt starts to hurt just swing in to a walmart and get an atv seat pad. It makes a fair difference.

Trash bags and bungee cords? IIRC, the hierarchy is: Trash bags, then when you get a little more advanced you get a milk crate, then if you want to show off your vast wealth, you get an Action-Packer. Once you are a certified high roller, you get ammo cans. I guess you could just buy luggage, but where's the fun in that?
