You expect us to believe that you pried on that before breaking the bead or even slacking off the TPMS... I give you more credit than that!

I'm gonna shoot Woody a PM to see what he thinks. Might be repairable.

But not too much credit.

I was about to remove that tire and after a few tall ones and thought that'd be a great pic for the WTF thread.

HOWEVER, I toasted the TPMS sensor. The sensor is shaped like an inverted L. The decal on the rim is supposed to indicate which side of the valve stem the body is on so you can use the fancy Dealer tool to test the sensor. My decal was wrong. I was struggling to insert the iron and heard a crack. Yep, too late. Fragile things. I figured the battery was dead anyway (2007 sensor) but no, it was fine. D'oh! Found a NOS one from Quebec for $70. The PN was superceeded but only for streamlining spares so it should be good. Less than half what the Dealer wants and GS911 can program those now.

They are fragile. Dealt with lots of them over the years in the garage. It's easy to damage them, especially on small rim diameters or low profile tires. Is BMW using unusually small units, or an uncommon frequency or something? Aftermarket sensors can be had now that are nearly universal for about $40.

Well changed fluids and front pads... oh and of course used my aluminium panniers to start the lagering of my beer, you know to give it that special "adventure" taste at the end
