If you are going to be there Thursday afternoon you could go on my short Lookout Sunset ride, it will be challenging for dirt n00bs, but it's a short ride with plenty of time allotted for folks to help out wrangling the cats and is very close to camp in case something goes wrong. Low stress, low miles and a backtracking one way ride to the top. Well, the climb up the wash wont be low stress for n00bs, but a good challenge to get the weekend started in a group not in a big hurry that can help out.

all the noobs group ride are good. the wr250 is a very good choice (if you can touch the ground).

few questions.
what is your fuel range?
what tires do you have?
can you ride 6-8 hours in one day?


those are your criteria. check the various groups (if still open) for which one you will fit in.

So with all this ever growing list of stuff to raffle off, is it still going to happen in one night?
Seems like it could turn into a 4 hour event, even with Jimmy moving things along. Or could there be raffling going on friday and saturday?... I haven't read through the whole thread so I'm not sure if this has been discussed.
More time to sit around a campfire with friends, more time to BUY more raffle tickets and raise money... an hour and a half of raffling each night is better than standing around till late while hundreds of items are raffled off in one night.
I guess some folks wont be there until late friday, but still... Just a thought.

People ! Some of us are coming even though we are broken. I want to smell two strokes in the morning. Drink coffee chatting with folks as they get ready for their rides. Ride with Pablo during the day. Hopefully not have to do SAR with DSM8 at night . And in general have a good ADV time.

Joel, I have a great idea for a photo opportunity for us and the ADV banner. Do you still have it?

todd, i sent you out for 2 weeks to solicit and came back short. are those all you got?....



if bill (conteacher) sees that, he will be on the phone again tomorrow calling every vendor he could find....

seriously, i think this event is already too heavy on prizes. i know, i like them too, but the raffle is going to eat up the entire saturday evening.

i can already imagine for 3 hours we will all be stressed out and anxious o hear our raffle ticket get called. jim, todd, bill and i talked about making it quick but not likely to happen.

i like what finn said, raffle some on friday night and spend some quality time around the campfire afterwards. one of the events i participated, they had the raffle for 2 nights.

todd, bill and jim....can you endure 2 nights?

also, i propose to put aside some of the prizes and raffle them among the volunteers. they deserved something in return for their work.

yes bob, still have this one. the other one - believe it or not, got stolen.... wtp...must be in someone's bedroom now. yes, we will have it out when we do photo shoots, swear, it will never get out of my sight, then back in the safe....
