Tim thanks. I don't see how I am going to get down to the springs. Right now it still hurts to ride 12 miles to work on pavement. When I F up, I do it right.
Shoot!
Sorry to hear that!

the guy- Joe, in the video is a friend of mine I've seen over the years riding ADV events. Glad to see he is ok.

YOU on the other hand- I'll get ya to the Hot Springs to soak/drink- it'll be theraputic.

yeah, Lonestar, you can always ride bitch with me... I've heard you're tough so my lack of a pillion seat shouldn't bother you too much, should it?!?

Sounds good - I want the full fat-ass seat treatment.

Hold it.......Weren't you the guy that we had to go fetch last time......

Hey Joel..

I have been dreading sending this message. I have to abort the rally. I'm about to start a big project for work and it's going to conflict with the rally dates. I'm self employed and have always been able to juggle work around riding but not this time and I have to take the work if it's offered.

Brian is still going to make it though. He will have to represent Colorado on his own...

Ride hard and take chances... FYYFF

Thanks

I have my Inmarsat Phone through AllRoadSat.com for a few years and have been happy. Though I have never rented with them.

I just bought an Inmarsat phone through www.satphonestore.com and have been very happy with their service and costs when compared to www.satellitephonestore.com .

The rentals from www.satphonestore.com are on a weekly basis whereas from the other one you can rent on day to day basis. So depending on your usage check out both sites.

Joe has been to the DV rally in years past and is a great guy. I'm glad he is ok and that everything worked out in terms of rescue and recovery.

As Joe's crash video shows, accidents do happen. Some areas of DV are very remote and difficult to access. We all need to be aware that it could take awhile for an extraction to occur. I'm hoping that everyone takes their time and rides within their abilities.

Good to hear he is alright. Amazing he was able to get up and walk around.

That initial electrifying pain ain't no joke.

I made the exact same noise on my last "get off". Had to sleep on reclining sofa for a week.

GPS Recommendations

I noticed half the group has GPS. Any recommendations. I like the Montana but it is pricey. Too many other farkeles to purchase. I thought i could use my iPhone 4G, but the navigation software and internal GPS is horrible. I tried the garmin 62 series but found the screen too small to navigate. Spent more time zooming in then riding and eventually the battery went dead.

There will be enough people with them that you won't really need one for this trip. Check out what others have... then you will know what to get.

For me... 276/376 or 60
