Craftsman Generator

should i bring my crapsman 20 amp generator. it is loud as stink, but runs well. Will probably need some gas to run the thing, but the gallon of gas that it holds will probably be good for at least one possibly two nights?

I will bring 1kw shop light also and two 20 foot extension cords. Any last minute thoughts?

NO!

If anyone needs power, all the RV sites have 110V and 220V available on the connection posts.. We are renting the whole place so don't be shy if you need power. You may need to turn on the 110V (skinny) circuit breaker since most RV's will be using the 30 or 50 amp circuits.

Bring a sandwich bag to put your phone/computer in to keep the dust out of it while it sits and charges.

Do not disconnect the RV parked there unless you ask the owner first...

Quiet generators are welcome. Maybe ! Hah!

Thank god.

If op needs power then run an extension cord from the RV area, or trade sites with someone close up there so you can get power if you need it. I am happy to provide 110 power for anyone that needs it. I will also have my 110v/125psi portable compressor ready for anyone that needs to air up tires. Site 8.

Someone did this last year next to us. We were sitting there relaxing in the late afternoon sun having a nice ice-cold beer and they thought they had to run their f'ing generator.

Not a Shell Station any more... Ben must be buying gas on the open market and setting his own prices now...

Anyway, the good thing is he has covered all the bright yellow plastics and that has cut down the light pollution in the campground now. Only 2 of the lights are on all night. I can't really remember if all 4 lights used to be on but it was definitely way too bright all night. Better now.

i remember my first time...over an hour. it takes several tire changes before you become good at it (30 minutes).

jimmy lewis will do a demo of a tire change on thursday afternoon before dinner. everyone is welcome to watch and ask questions.
Jimmy makes it look too easy in his video, but watching it again definitely helped me get my tires on - without pinching the tubes!

Another great tip. Using lots of soap and water, and a good deal of time patiently working the bead, I had no major problems getting my tires on.

Now I've got new D606s on the XR and am ready to roll!

Guys,

I updated the list on the first page with Joel's final list. It looks weird but that is the "LIST". So please find yourself and try to keep your spot once you get there. Joel and Jim will be there with the floor plan. If you are lost (in the camp) they can help you out.
I know some of you already left or leaving very soon so I wish you all a safe, enjoyable and fun weekend.
See you all in DV...

Thumb LED Light Expo

Cyclops Motor Sports has sent me some of their LED lights for testing.

www.cyclopsadventuresports.com

I will be bringing them with me to the rally for people to be able to see first hand how they work, output, distance etc.

I will also have on hand some Anzo lights for comparison.

The demo will be for the following:

10w 10 Degree Long Range LED
10w 20 Degree Long Range LED
6 LED Light Bar
Anzo 6 LED Light bar

I know there are others with LED's on their bikes so it might be nice to have them come over and just show a more realistic comparison.

My plan is to do this Friday night after dark for the best conditions for the review.

They also are going to be offering a discount to all participants to this rally, 15% OFF but your name has to be on the list of attendee's
This is 5% more than the standard ADV discount

2 up gs ride

Anyone interested in joining us on doing 2 up GS rides? Such as Titus Canyon or Saline Hot Springs. We will be riding at a pace more suitable for 2up. I have no problem being a ride leader. My wife and I do not have a camp site at Panamint Springs. We did not get signed up in time. You can meet up with us Friday and Saturday morning at 9am in front Panamint Springs store at the Historic Marker. We will be riding a red BMW 1200GS adventure with a big red North Face bag on the back. We are leaving Bakersfield late afternoon today.

Rotex and Redrider
