If we decide to come a day early (on Weds) can you hook up the extra day of tent camping or do we need to contact the campground ourselves?

you have dannyG's dilemma. death valley has everything for all kinds of bikes and sizes. i ride a 640 and that's all i need, though i may bring a small bike to play around. chris, johngil, m1jeep, and many others, including ersin and spafxer on 990s, can go almost anywhere.

since you're trucking, take both. most of the best sights are on the east side of dv. that involves a lot of pavement to get there. there is also a pass you have to get over. if your intention is just dirt riding, take the small bike. there's plenty of them near the campground.

there were xt225, tw200, xrl250, drz400 and more small displacement bikes who came in previous years. they did the farthest route and still had a great time. regardless, it will be fun.

Steve Palmer + 2 friends, 1drz,2 dr650s 5nights camping, all meals I was told to never volunteer but I'll make an exception this time. Donate? no kidney but might part with a couple bucks.

I am listed as bringing the 570...but I am not,,,,,the small bike gets a little boring in DV....except for a few specific places..(South Park, Big dune, the step in Echo)....

been going to DV for 10 years... every year 3 to 4 times with some years more...

usually, i don't make dinner not due to bike but navigational issues...
