Campsite reserved for Wednesday

#158 Oliver
#159 Diane

Per NSFW's post #474 (riding in), we have a reservation on Wednesday the 27th for tent site #16 so if possible we would like to keep that site through Sunday. Thanks

We won't need the tent cabin after all, taking our chances with the wind ;-).

No large 50 gal garbage bags from us, promise! Hell, our panniers don't even hold that much

Joel, since you have a good connection with the resort, ask them if they could have larger and separate recyclable receptacles. Every time I would throw my bottles or cans away, which was quite often, the small cans by the bathroom were always full and mixed with trash. They could make a decent buck with a separate can for each, e.g. bottles, cans, and plastic, as long as everyone filled them up correctly.

Sorry for ending up where I wasn't supposed to be.

sherry and others. really it's my fault and i apologize. i should have announced that sites #14-23 are for RIDING IN earlier at the start of the thread. i was just so overwhelmed that my planning skill went south.

Perhaps if people would be responsible to haul away their large trash and use the campground dumpsters for legitimate garbage the problem could be alleviated. Tires cannot be legally thrown in the trash in California, DAMHIK (the garbage police got me at home). Tires need to be recycled which usually involves a fee.

Also, paper trash can be burned in the campfires.

Just sayin .........

thanks greg and john. folks post up your suggestions.

we can do the ff.

1. pack it in - pack it out
2. increase the # of recyclable receptacles and keep them segregated. any volunteer? you get to keep them too.
3. bring your own spoon, fork, knives and cups.
4. i will distribute thrash bags, as many as you want, double it up so it wont leak or smell, and safe take home.
5. i throw my paper plate into the campfire, it's up to the rest.

Sorry to say, but some outside factors have taken me and Lasherman OUT of play for the n00bs.

[START DELETE]
195. Memnok (Clint) - Honda XR650L - Driving in with a 30 foot travel trailer, 3 nights, No food.
196. Lasherman (Cris) - DR350 - Driving in with Memnok, staying in the trailer, 3nights, no food.
[END DELETE]

That will also free up a full-hookup RV space.

Hi Joey, the above being the case, can I go ahead with the 2nd tent cabin? That way not crowding Sue (since its not clear that she wants to share).

You should be getting paid for keeping up with all of this.

It looks like I wasn't paying attention.

Put me on the stand-by list if you would Joel. I'd be trucking in this year, Thursday thru Sunday, and would be partaking of all meals.

Dave

Hey Brenda,

No problem sharing - I posted a "no problem" a couple pages ago, but it's pretty easy to miss posts right now with all the new ones coming up.

I also can't believe the organizer (Joey?) is keeping up with all of the lists, lodging etc. Craziness!

Sharing is caring!

Hey Dave, hope you get in! Look me up when you get there. Dodge pickup with camper, plus trailer. Space No. 50 if all goes according to plan.

I'm #188, thanks Joel!

We'll be announcing some of the class give-aways as we get closer.

Some of your fellow Noobs have signed up for some of our spring classes, so they won't be so Nooby after I get done with them.

Cry We're out

Turns out Bill and the other guys can't make it due to Easter, so I just put 5 spots up for bidding on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ADV-n00bs-Ra...m2324b3b26cca7

Only kidding about eBay. Unfortunately not kidding about not being to make it. We're going to try to do our own DV ride in April to avoid the holiday.

Joel / Ersin, you can remove us from the "in" list.

165. joe (joefromsf) - vanning dr650 - all in
166. bill (speed racer) - trailering dr350 - all in
167. darrel (kawtipper) - drz 650, carpool with speed racer, all in
168. steve (tuffgonger) - drz400, carpool with speed racer, all in
169. mike (n6oft) -xr650L, carpool with bill

Jimmy Lewis Off-road riding school - March 23/24

I attended one of Jimmy's course samplers this summer at the KTM rally in Bend. Even thought I've been riding for 35 years; motocross, street, long distance touring, etc, I was amazed at what I could still learn. Or, what was easer after just a pointer or two from Jimmy. Anyway, after that short introduction, I decided to attend one of his 2 day riding classes. Turns out he has a class scheduled for the 23rd & 24th of March, which is just perfect timing as I can attend his class and then I'll have a week to practice in Death Valley

The course still has openings and if a few more big bikes/ADV types sign up, I'm on a KTM 990, the training will be slanted towards those riding styles (Jimmy, hope I stated that correctly.) So, here's your chance to learn off-road skills from one of the best and then have a whole week to practice! How can you say no to that!

More class info here: http://jimmylewisoffroad.com/class-structure/

Who's IN?

1) Moto-Treks - KTM 990
2) McKay - Husky 449
3)
4)

I'm in no way connected to the Jimmy Lewis Off-road riding school. I just want to take the class with other like minded riders.
