Kev,
I think i'll be plumping for Mitas who make a universal tyre in the standard 4.00 x 18 size. If my memory serves me correctly they'll set you back about £80 for the pair. I have them fitted to my MZ which I use in all weathers and have no complaints. Yes I realise the guzzi is a far heavier old beast but it isn't throwing out mega horsepower and I think they'll perform just fine. Those Shinko's on the other rebuild thread look quite inviting as well however.......

+1 on the Spitfires. I've gotten excellent mileage out of them as well.

Any of you guys have a spare MPH speedo for a twin clock dash kicking about the place? I have an KPH one on the bike at present, and would like to swap it over.

So, are you coming to the Guzzi National Rally in Lavigne, Ontario next weekend? Hop on a plane - after your tribulations, I'll buy you a beer and if you ask very nicely, might even lend you a bike.

Nick

Today - 6AM. Opinicon Lake

Once I finally get the garage cleared out of other projects, an older Guzzi will then fill that space. Probably an Eldo or an Ambassador. Something to just lazily chuff down the road for miles & miles.

How is the road along Opinion? It was under construction last year. Might be my favourite road in the whole province.

The gravel has morphed into hardtop. There's even a painted centre line in places. Its still a nice ride and one can easily be seduced into riding a bit too fast but I miss the days when it was gravel. There are just as many deer and turkeys (the feathered kind) as ever, which makes for some entertaining early morning rides.

Nick

Opinicon Road (aka Chaffey's Lock Road) last May.

Oooh ahhhh. Nice! What bars are those? I'm trying to find something to replace my 83' Cali II buckhorns. I normally prefer superbike bars but for my Guzzi I want something of the proper vintage that gives me a little forward lean but has a wide (30 inch+) grip for leverage. I've been leaning toward Convert bars. Yours look similar.

I would think they are the standard Euro bars?

Ah didn't see that post under the photo. Thought it was just a random statement by Lasse stating the bars look like CB750 jobs.
I stand corrected.

Everything seems to have gone a little quiet on the ADV classic V7 Guzzi front, you guys given up riding the old things? Well I am riding mine, infact I am off camping to the wilds of Kent this very weekend, to a village that sounds as if it comes from the heart of middle earth, and Hobbits should be at the bar! a little old village called Stelling Minnis.

Beer with friends, camping in the grounds of a pub, and a forcast of Autumn rain
