'94 R1100RS Electrical Issues

1994 R1100RS

I was riding in to work this AM and began having electrical issues. I noticed the ABS lights turing on an off, also the engine cutting out. I was only a half mile or so from work so was able to limp it in. Checking it out at work I was able to isolate it to the left side wiring harness that comes from the fairing towards the engine. Turning the bars left to right or moving that harness caused the headlight to flicker, or turn off completely. Not having a wiring diagram handy I assume this harness goes to the ignition switch.

Anyone have any similar experience or thoughts.

The ignition switch wiring was a weak point on all these R1100's. Someone in the factory was a little overzealous with the zip tie gun.

Thanks jdiaz. I checked it out briefly last night and it seems that th zip ties are likely the problem. I will pull the body work this weekend and track down the break or short.
