Made it through this rock patch pretty good...

 photo P1070031_zpse7c7a0e5.jpg

Then fell pretty hard on an easy spot, packed pretty heavy for a self supported 8 day stretch with no stores.

 photo P1070032_zps0d43ee1d.jpg

The sand was tricky this time, soft silty stuff would come out of nowhere with hard packed sand on either side.

 photo P1070033_zps3eb0b7ee.jpg

It took me one hour in the dark to go 7 miles from Saline Valley to the springs, I've made it in seven minutes on the smaller bikes.

English speaking German sounding girl voice from the dark, "Do we know you?", me.."Are you tall?", "Ja."...haha, I have camped next to Scott and Annette!!

Wish balloon time!!

Well, it's Thursday and I'm ready for a ride. I was going to go up Lippencott, but Ruth and Peter got in last night and said that they had talked to the Sheriff near the Racetrack and he was going to rescue a couple drones stuck in a passenger car, that road is super narrow so I'll reverse my loop to allow more time for the car to be recovered.

Panamint Springs, water, slurp...it was about four hours from the springs to PSR, it'd been 3 hours for Big Pine to the springs.

Stopped at Hunter Cabin, they're going to do a 50 acre "controlled" burn around the cabin next summer, yes...summer, figured I'd see it once more just in case they burn it down.

Strangely enough the silt beds in Hidden Valley are gone, it got just enough rain in July and it set up like concrete before anybody drove on it.

I know who lost this off their rental car, we had a link to his blog on another forum and he followed the traffic to "defend" his "honor". This retard tried to go up Lippencott during the summer with...a Camry.. escaped with his life and girlfriend and $17,000 worth of damage to the car and the only thing he learned was that he needed better insurance. Very entitled young man, discussion didn't go well, thread locked.

Yup!!! I had the stocking cap you made for me, but it was abnormally warm on this trip...never got to wear it.
