I couldn't swear to it but I seem to recall reading somewhere the parking brake had to be mechanical?

I have a mechanical lock for my hydraulic sidecar brake. No dramas.

a neat and simple fix, nice. not unlike the Ural.
I knew if I thought hard enough I could find some good memories of owning a Ural!

Bummer. Two lots of mounts made and a no-go. I feel your pain.

Have you thought about just making your own body and just sectioning that frame you have ( although a complete new frame isn't that much more work and you get to choose where the attachment points go ). ?

Eh? Shame about silly rules.

Sorry to see such a good project get stopped by a silly rule.
Choices?
A bit of cut and pasting with the fiberglass body?
Apply to the authorities for an exemption to the rule? That sort of thing has been done before in different circumstances or at least in WA with an overlength truck that I know of.
Maybe we need to petition the various Australian states to change the width rule to say 2.1M.
Hope something comes up for you.
Cheers Bruce.

Thanks Bruce, I think before 1988 it was 2.1M

A phone call to the maritime whatever could not hurt.
But being an ADR I don't think a lot can be done.

Funny thing, you can tow a trailer behind a bike, like a camperoo etc, over 1850mm me thinks.
