Thumb In!

+2

Lynda (ElleDubs) & I had so much fun at the Canyonlands fandango we just had to sign up for this one as well.

To show our commitment, we both bought new (to us) bikes this week - a KTM 300 XC for me and a CRF 150RB for her.

I guess that means we'll be aiming at trails rather than dual-sport!

In. Stoked. If WestFest is half as good as Canyonlands Adventure ride we'll have a ball.

Now I have 3 months to learn how to ride single-track

Glad to see you guys are planning on attending. It'll be nice to visit again. Westfest should be (at least!!!) half as much fun as the CL ride was. Ben knows better than I, but for the limited amount of ridding I've done there, there are a variety of trails available for all skill levels. You guys'll enjoy riding your new bikes there.

Ben and I are meeting in Buena Vista tomorrow (Firday) night and Tomas is supposed to be driving up and meeting us early Saturday morning. We're going to ride the area all day Saturday for some . . . "pre-event" riding. At least I'll be able to get some more riding in on my new (at least to me) 530 EXC. The little bit of riding I got in on it at the Swell just wasn't enough. So this should be fun. I think Ben is planning on taking some photo's and posting them on this thread. It'll help give an idea of what you can anticipate.

See you there . . .

Finally

It is an amazing bike so far, 85 on the highway with camping gear and then still riding with dirtbikes on the trails, pretty cool

The suspension needs some serious work though, at some point the plan is a revalve and to raise it to S spec, maybe just go the full 300mm

We need to do some bike bike rides with the wives now Ryan

Congrats! I like to think of those bikes as superbikes capable of singletrack.

Knowing how you ride, the S suspension is the ticket for the more offroad type rides. Feel free to take mine out and compare the two. The fronts on mine are reworked by Slavens and seem to fix a few of the other problems.

We're in for rides whenever! Just let us know.

I'm in!

Another virgin all paid up.
I'll be riding from New Hampshire. The plan is to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday.
Is there anywhere to get fresh sneakers for an F800 GS in the area? I'd like to do the slab on the Anakees and make arrangements for a set of TKCs once there. It will be due for an oil change as well.

Hey guys I wanted to give an update after meeting with the owners of Arrowhead Point last weekend.

On Friday:
Arrowhead Point will have a BBQ grill running from 12-4 and you can get either a hot dog or hamburger with chips and a drink for $5

On Saturday
Arrowhead Point will be serving breakfast from 7am-10. It will be pancakes, eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, coffee, or juice and the pancakes are all you can eat for $7.

We are working with Arrowhead Point and there is a very good chance we will have live music from a great local blue grass band on Saturday after the BBQ and Raffle. I hope to know for sure by the end of this week, but it would make for a great show saturday.

Also we have had several additional vendors say they will be sponsoring Westfest and once I receive the products I will post up, but if they all come through everyone should be very happy with the raffle

GatosBros to sponsor Westfest

GatosBros have donated one of their trick, and very custom, Universal Steering Dampener Mounts for Westfest this year, as well as some coupons.

I just got the mount in the mail last week and it is one bad ass piece of hardware I am really impressed with the quality and thought put into this and it will make whoever wins it in the raffle very happy

Gatosbros has a vendor thread on ADV HERE that highlights all their products and the work they have put into this very custom business.

Thanks to Rob and Gatosbros for helping to support Westfest this year.

Performance Cycle to Sponsor Westfest

Performance Cycle in Denver has stepped up and will be providing 2 $25 gift certificates and several very cool adventure themed T-shirts for the raffle

For anyone passing though for Westfest visit Performance at 1990 S. Broadway in Denver for Tires, Gear, and whatever else. Great people and prices from a local shop.
