Easy Rider: 44 Years Later
Collection of photos from one of my favorite motorcycle movies, Easy Rider. Hard to believe it's been 44 years since it first hit the theater. Mixed in with the photos is one rare cameo that didn't make it into the final version. See if you can spot it.

Interesting exercise in the differences between roll models/entertainers of the 60s vs the 80s. No wonder kids today have the backbone of a jellyfish
![]() Thanks for posting, you tickled da fancy to watch it this weekend.

What I was always curious about is on Hoppers bike, it seems every picture of it has the front brake and clutch levers in a different position.
And it was not too hard to pick out the deleted scene. ![]() Marc

I bet the builder of the bike set up the levers in one position and Dennis rode like that for some of the early promo shots. Then after a while he changed them to what was more comfortable. Only two screws to loosen to move those style levers, so would have been a real quick change. I always thought they looked like horns sticking up from the handlebars they way he has them pointing...

If I am remembering correctly, Mr. Hopper said that they ended up building two of each bike over the course of filming, and they started filming before the bikes were totally finished.

Even more interesting is that generation was called weak spoiled and lazy by the one before it.
I just watched this (again) a few weeks ago. Still enjoyable; proba ly for different reasons.

I watched it again not too long ago and was pretty impressed how well Fonda and Hopper handled their bikes - set up as they were, the HDs had to be a handful, especially at low speeds.

lets sell some COKE
still my favorite all time movie.showing both fonda and hopper snorting cocaine in the beginning im sure influenced afew youngsters to try the powder.i had a friend who decided to sell a little cocaine in the early 70s.unfortunately he did some prison time.the movie did influence me to start selling marijuana.unfortuately i smoked way too much of it to make a profit.and lost more than one job because i was too stoned to care.

Escellent film!
I turned 13 in 1969. My childhood in the 60s already had me on the edge.
My dad took me to see Easy Rider immediately after it came out, and that was pretty much it. Easy Rider shaped me in more ways than either of us might have imagined. Not sure what he was thinking.

Yeah... not so much. I ran away physically many times after that, but he always dragged me back, no matter how for I'd gotten. He wasn't finished torturing me.
