Austin to Boise

Hello fellow riders. I'm planning a fly and ride from Boise to Austin. I'll fly from Boise to Austin and ride back solo. Anybody have a recommended route? I've never been east of Moab on land. Picking up a sport tour bike so no dirt this time. Don't care about a quick route, but want to get there. Want to see some great sites, if there are any between here and there. Leaving mid may so I'm thinking about the weather too. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice.

I'd ride to Durango but continue west into Delores Co, turn north up the Delores river valley through Telluride, head west and pick up Co 191 (Unaweep Scenic Byway) north into Grand Junction Stop in at the Co Natl Monumet. You can catch the road along the Co river into Moab or head north along the Wasatch Range.

The area from Delores all the way to GJ Co is an awesome road, sweepers, tight turns, nice straights, and very scenic.

The problem with US550 (Million Dollar Hwy) is it's a major thouroghfare, 4 lanes most of the way and dumps you into a long straight road from Ridgway to Grand Junction. Much LEOs, tourists and commercial traffic. The western route is deserted, made to order for MCs
