I've been looking for a screen like that. I have a perfect one on my '04 R and would like to experiment with cutting a used one down before I chop up my good one. If I raise my butt off the seat my helmet is in perfectly clean air, similar to my old R90S.

I ended up NOT using or buying a vac tool. It was not a big deal to pump the fluid through with the brake lever. I ran a bit through so hopefully there is no more air in there.

You said it. R****R is really an all purpose bike, the reason I bought mine (R12R) after series of big sport touring bikes.

Its tough having a brand new R in the garage. I go out and fire it up now and then. A couple weeks ago we had a decent day so I took the Versys out because I didn't want to run the new R in the salt. Waiting for spring! Photo from last fall. I bought the bike new early september. It now has 6400 miles on it.

My R1100RL and a Question About Tires
Here's my '99 R1100RL after a few modifications to better suit it to my riding style and requirements:
It's got the tubeless wire wheels in a 18" on the front and a 17" on the rear. Front tire size is 110/80 - 18 and the rear is 150/70 - 17. Currently has Dunlop Sportmax radials fitted. I would really like to install some dual sport tires like the Shinko 705 but am having trouble finding any in these sizes. My goal with this bike is to be able to ride gravel roads with the ease that I ride asphalt. Any ideas on tires that would accomplish this and are available in these sizes would be greatly appreciated. Sam Bateman Arvonia, VA |

i just picked up a 2007 R1200R the other day. although it has 66,000 miles on it, it runs great. it came with a Cee Baileys windshield but i am thinking of switching to a CalSci. anyone have any experience with a CalSci windshield on a R12R? i am looking for better wind and weather protection.

The PO of my R12 had one and said the CalSci was flimsy and easily scratched.
That's what I know. I have an 18" Cee Baileyslike yours but haven't tried it. What do you think about it?

In my honest opinion you will have no advantage with dualsport tires on gravel unless they are full knobbies. I have rode much gravel on the klr with shinko 80/20 tires and nothing beats a good kenda or Dunlop knobbie. But when you get back on the pavement the shinko will reward you.

Decided on some Continental Trail Atacks. Front is same size as stock but rears will be 150/70-18s instead of 160/60-18s, which is about 1 centimeter greater circumference.
