MRA makes a couple of smaller and cheaper choices. You have to buy the mount but after that you can use any shield they offer. twisted throttle is one supplier but i'm sure there are more.

...I just got the MRA X-creen from Twisted.
Used these (older versions) on other bikes with some good success.
Since I wasn't sure about the fit I opted for the clamp-on version.
I prefer the OEM flyscreen and only cared about experimenting with some adjustability. Glad to say I like the results.

Do have to say the though, MRA's instructions fairly well suck.
There's only one exploded view (thank doG) and you get multiple bags of screws/nuts and little plastic parts.
The clamp-on rubber footies aren't even attached to the clamps...you have to glue them on yourself.
For the price this stuff should come assembled.

During the research, one thing that was hard to suss out was whether the new version was made of sturdy plexiglass piece like the old one. Pics showed both.(thanks to inmate twistedthrottle for clearing this up fro me).

As I feared the new (more adjustable) version is a fairly whimpy molded plastic shield, about 2/3rds the thickness if the original.
The wind deflection results are good, but the design of the new product just isn't as sturdy as the original.

Lack of rigidity in both the arms and the shield tend to make it want to flutter and shake. Not terribly, but enough to male it distracting.
But maybe that's just me...

Pics later...

Well then maybe one the experienced folks on here can help us out. Once I know the size of the bolts that are used to mount the stock luggage rack, I can build my own rack..

You won't like the little "S" fairing. Just ship it to me and forget you ever bought it.

Surprised none of the 1150 nerds have answered this already. A&S's fiche page for the luggage bits shows M6 and M8 bolts of various lengths.

Gas Tank holds 5.7 gal... 4.8 till deserve ,

One concern is that the "R" fuel tank is just 4.8 gal capacity (similar to my S-bike) which isn't ideal for all day backroad rides where stations are infrequent. Has this limitation been an issue for you guys?

I've put 5.7 gals in mine with the computer still showing a couple of miles.

After reading all about how my fuel gauge is screwed up, I took some spare gas and went for a ride.

Computer said 37 miles when the low fuel light came on.

I kept riding .... 10 miles to empty 5..

Zero miles to empty. I accelerated quickly, the engine caughed. I gently went 3 more miles to the gas station. It took 5.3 to the bottom of the filler neck just like it says in the book.
I then crammed as much as I could in and it took 6 gallons. 2112 R1200R

Wow, that must be a record for the newest bike on the planet :). My R1150R is not quite that accurate, and the irritating thing is when it dies I can still hear a little sloshing around in there somewhere, lol.
