In my opinion the square bags don't look right on the R1200R. They just don't flow like the stockers.
For me the stock luggage is about the best looking hard luggage period even tho I do prefer top loading bags.

Again, nice job on that bike...

I don't know about the leather, but that exhaust would be awesome on my bike.

They don't look bad, but the stock bags look better.

I looked at the Givi's (thought about getting them) and they look great from the side, but from the rear no way.

IMHO the stock bags look good, but are a little big looking for the R.

I'm more of a function over form type. I like the way the aluminum bags look, i'd totally rock them.

Clear handguards though... don't think i'd do that.

Hoop,

I like those hard bags... for all the camping I do, they'd be easier to pack and would serve as seats at the campsite. I don't have bags on normally, so I would be a bit concerned with the mounting brackets looking like ass, but for utility - I could be easily swayed.

I'd run 'em

Nice option

They look good on your bike. I've got a small soft tail bag I run in conjunction with a tank bag for my daily use. On longer trips I remove the tail bag and use a dry bag strapped on with Rok-Straps, quit using saddle bags all together.

Definately interesting. It does make me scratch my head and ask "do you like it?" The answer is yes - - and no, but yes...but...

Its too much money as an add on - at least for me. I have to think if BMW built a retro like that they would sell a bunch of them. It needs the tubeless, spoked wheels, but other than that I like it. A lot.

This quote is almost exactly what I was going to say. I don't think you can complain about the looks of the factory bags when you've got those truly ugly hand guards on there!

But aside from that light ribbing, I actually like the looks of your bags a lot! One of my complaints after living with my bike for a while is that it's a very modern bike and the "classic" motif just wears false. You've got a nice modern grey color on a nice modern bike, and now it's complimented with nice modern luggage. I dig it.

Oh my god... It's beautiful! I've been toying around with some ideas to try and replace the ugly "horn" that scoops forward from the airbox on my '11 R1200R (hoping to 3D print something). It looks like this fixes that unsightliness. Plus, the Krauser bags! I would do this in an instant, but for the cost.
