Zacapa 23, the only rum I'll buy anymore. Threw out 3 half bottles of crap I tried to give a fair shake. Nevermore.

My only challenge will be packing everything on a pannier-less KLR. It'd be nice to have a cooler, but I may end up buying a foam one on site just to fit my camping gear for the ride there and back.

I have a top case with no panniers. Gonna be interesting. I have a soft folding cooler, but it works for crap. All I really need is ice. And bourbon. Maybe a granola bar. But mostly bourbon.

When I motorcycle camped back in the late 80's, I threw everything I needed in my big army duffle bag, on top of the old school 2 burner Colman stove and ratchet strapped it to the back of my 81 GPz1100. I was adventure riding way before adventure riding was cool

Decisions, decisions.
Might I suggest a bottle of rum and a bottle of bourbon?

Shit, totally forgot about the soft cooler. Can double as a duffel. Awesome. I'm brain-dead today... but I need to get going on getting ready, next week is gonna kick my ass and I won't have time to think at the last minute.

Go down to wallyworld and get one of those waterproof duffels...used to be about $15 shouldn't be more than $20.

Use a couple of cheap ancra style tie downs to strap it to the back and you're good to go.

I've taken a number of camping trips that way on bikes w/o panniers.

It stays put

I'm not a bourbon man myself. I'm just trying to figure in my head if I can stand 3 nights of drunken bliss, or if moderation is in order. I'd rather have enough, than run dry, and I'm willing to bet you won't find a bottle of this within 100 miles of that campground, so resupply is out of the question.

The best thing to do is send all your gear on ahead and get members of the Moran Nation to set up camp for you. Then all you have to do is arrive in all your splendor.

We'll set up your tent in a spot with excellent drainage.

Here's my 72 Yamaha XS650 - fully loaded - in 1978. We rode that milk shake maker from New York to San Francisco and back, through most of the national parks along the way. Great trip!

Yeah, I overpacked like a motherfucker once too, while driving from VA to CA, and staying there for a year.

I just don't want to look like that for a 200 mile ride and 3 nights of camping is all.
